Multi-users polypaudio lock

Bug Description

I'm logged in as user A. I log out, then I log in as user B. Polypaudio is locked!

Do you still have this issue? If so, could you please provide some more information, such as package versions in use?

I tried again on powerpc ubuntu breezy (20060402) with polypaudio 0.7+20050805. I had many troubles to play any sound (only totem did) in single user mode. Nothing works in mutli-user modes: consecutive or simultaneous logins.

I see the same here in a breezy intalation.
 You log as user A, then log out. Log in again as user B and polypaudio will refuse to run until you delete the /tmp/.esd/ directory.
 After that you can manually launch it.
