Trying to release multiple machines that are pods hides the error message

Bug Description
This is with MAAS 2.7.0~rc1-
I deploy 2 machines and register them as KVM pods.
Now if I go to the machine listing and try to release them,
it looks like nothing happens. They stay deployed.
If I look closer, I see that an error message is shown a
fraction of a second, but then goes away, leaving the user
clueless as to why the machines can't be released.

Not an issue with releasing KVM pods, just how error messages are handled when multiple machines are selected.
