Bug Description

The Ubuntu Error Tracker has been receiving reports about a problem regarding mysql-5.7. This problem was most recently seen with package version 5.7.28-0ubuntu0.18.04.4, the problem page at https://errors.ubuntu.com/problem/eb390290de7ea22fd0fcd562abb150664689b770 contains more details, including versions of packages affected, stacktrace or traceback, and individual crash reports.

This seems to be a rather common issue since Ubutnnu Xenial, but happening much more often since Bionic.

@lars/Robie is that kown upstream anything we can do about it?

I'm wondering if this is a common misuse like OOM appearing as a crash?

It's not obvious just from the header what the cause is, so I've asked for access to get a stacktrace.

Lars - did you get access to the stacktrace? I ask as there still seem to be 100s of this crash being reported daily.
