Bug Description

When starting the scanner software, I get a message that I need to install a required plugin. When doing that, selecting the recommended method, I'm told that the checksum is wrong and the installation is aborted.
I solved the problem for now by downgrading to 3.19.11.

hplip 3.19.12
Manjaro Linux 18.1.5
Printer/scanner: Color LaserJet CM1312 MFP

Hi,

Can you uninstall hplip using "hp-uninstall" command and install 3.19.12 run file and plugin file?

It should work fine.

Sorry for late response. No, I can't do that, because when installing the plugin file I'm asked to enter the root password, which I forgot years ago (since it's never asked for, ever), so I guess I first need to install Manjaro from scratch for that to happen.

Maybe I really need to do that, because today I realised that hplip has been upgraded to 3.20.3 without my knowledge, even though I've put hplip in my ignore update list. That's a bit strange, I think, but maybe a Manjaro problem rather than a hplip problem.

Anyway, why is the root password required when installing that plugin? Is that really necessary?

Okay, I gave it a final try to reset my root password, and after a few minutes of frustration I finally succeeded and I also succeeded to install the plugin. I can now use my scanner again.

Sorry for my previous unnecessary message.
