In 'Synaptic Package Manager' (most probable, as I was trying to use it, clicked few times), it asked for authentication. After several clicks, gave me a window for authentication, in which I was able to log in, but later on after using it, I closed 'Synaptic Package Manager'. After some time the authentication window comes up on the left top corner, which is clickable, but clicks won't do anything. Plus the input text 'Password' field would not take any input from keyboard.
And when I press ALT+F2, then type "r" and press enter, it's gone !
