Bug Description
This particular PC is an Asrock Desk Mini 110W. I run my audio through HDMI and separate speakers connected to the monitor, not the built in monitor speakers.
When I shut my system down completely and then boot up the next time, my audio configuration settings change back to Analog Stero Duplex. I have to enter the volume control center, go to configuration, and select my setting which is "Digital Stereo (HDMI 2) Output.
Now if I place my system in Suspend, the settings will stay in place which makes sense as partial boot is still present.
I am not entirely sure if this is a bug, but it certainly does not seem normal so I thought I'd report my issue.

It's not a 'bug' as such Joe (though I agree it would be nice if the current device were saved on reboot .. though I can also see how this could cause problems with say bluetooth headsets which weren't currently ON), but it is possible to set the default pulseaudio audio sink in Ubuntu (and derivatives).
