The error seems to be from gtk-update-icon-cache, does running "sudo update-icon-caches /usr/share/icons/hicolor" work correctly?

It either Seems to do something o.k. or doesn't really do anything but make the computer think alittle.

You need to run "sudo update-icon-caches /usr/share/icons/hicolor" after running "sudo touch /usr/share/icons/hicolor"

I have moved to Hardy Heron Alpha 4 via fresh install from Live CD.
after trying a
root@HewittRand-desktop:~# sudo apt-get remove libselinux1
as suggested by someone to fix another constantly crashing program.

nothing really worked on my computer after that, so I had to re-install, so I put the new Alpha 4 on here.
So I guess you can close the bug as it relates to me, for now, and I will file if it happens again.

I'cant believe!! I'm dealing with this bug for at least five months.
