disabling "download headers only" doesn't work

Binary package hint: thunderbird

version 2.0.0.6 (20071022)

I disabled the option "Download headers only" ("Télécharger les entêtes uniquement" in my french version) in the "account setup..." section (Édition/paramètres des comptes...) for all my email accounts. Then I restarted Thunderbird but all the already received messages are still only composed of the header. What should I do to retrieve all the body of all the messages ?
