All keyboard shortcuts do not work after a login

When I start a fresh Ubuntu session sometimes none of the shortcuts on the keyboard configuration section work. Not even the keys for volume up, down or mute work, and they are just one key. If I reboot, sometimes, the issue goes away and the key shortcuts start working, but it can also continue to malfunction. On the other hand, the super key to open the menu always works

I've been working on a patch for 19.10 to resolve this.

Since you are on 18.04 + our backports PPA - please can you test out a rework of our 19.10 suggested fix?

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:ubuntubudgie-dev/desktopkeygrab
sudo apt upgrade

logout and login and use as normal - test reboots/suspends, new shortcuts, changing shortcuts, removing shortcuts etc etc.

Please let me know how you get on.

Assuming this works I will push to the main backports PPA and you can then remove this test PPA

sudo ppa-purge ppa:ubuntubudgie-dev/desktopkeygrab

Hi, I have been using the fix for more than a week and I did not experienced the problem again. So it seems this is a proper fix for my problem

Thanks - this has now been pushed out as an update - so just update as usual.

Then you can purge this test PPA.
