Backport Asterisk 16 to Bionic

Currently in Bionic, The asterisk package is on 1:13.18.3~dfsg-1ubuntu4 (https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/bionic/+source/asterisk). Could the asterisk package from Eoan, which is currently on 1:16.2.1~dfsg-2build2 (https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/asterisk/1:16.2.1~dfsg-2build2) be backported to Bionic?

FYI v16 is in Ubuntu 19.04 and later.
Per the SRU policy [1] it won't get "just into 18.04".

Thanks Hans Joachim for linking the backports process, which is sort of the middle ground.
But to be aware, usually requires participation and dev on your own.
