Bug Description

When using the Pantheon or Cupertino desktop layout in 19.10 MATE, it is not possible to remove the Plank icon from within the Plank dock.

Even when you right-click on the icon and un-check the "Keep in dock" option, the icon still remains and implies that Plank is open, which in theory it is, but this is not needed within this dock.

You can move the icon, but you cannot remove.

Using dconf-editor
Go to: net.launchpad.plank.docks.dock1
Uncheck show-dock-item

Thanks!

I did a search for "show-dock-item" within dconf-editor and was able to disable. The icon has now gone from my dock, but this is surely still a bug in that it is not possible to disable or remove the icon to begin with.

Could be something for Plank developers to fix, if not the Ubuntu team, perhaps?

There's no particular evidence that this bug is fixed, and the user who changed it to Fix Released has made quite a few other strange changes in Launchpad, so reverting.
