Bug Description

Hi,

I had hard rebooted my laptop after I found out that Ubuntu 18.04 was not responding to login credentials. But this reboot was not successful for some reason and I saw a few error messages. So I rebooted in recovery mode, and finally after recovery was done, I selected continue to normal boot. Since then, I'm not able to control the brightness of my screen. Please let me know what additional information or log files you would need to figure out the cause, and solve this problem for me.
