Language input does not change when you are on applications search box

Bug Description

when you click on the application icon and you want change the input language does not change, you need to click somewhere in the desktop change input with your keyboard shortcut and come back to search box.

same if you just click the Super

I don't believe this is an issue. You do have to change focus for things to work.

let me try to explain better.
you work in a document in a language different than english
you press super to initiate the apps search
you are now into the search box, you can't change language from whatever lang you are to english so to search for the app you're looking.

Yes I understand. This I remember was brought up upstream. They closed the issue saying that is how it is supposed to work. Popups grab the focus and you need to move to something else before the language input can be done.
