Bug Description
This is a SEVERE incident and it’s NEW after running Mixxx 2.1.8 many, many times without any problems. I was able to reproduce the same issue for 7 times now (8 altogether) and I do not intend to keep on.
What happens?
The Mac OS (Yosemite and El Capitan — I installed the latter after seven crashes on Yosemite but it keeps on crashing) crashes INSTANTLY like a stroke: monitor black, system down. Even more scaring: It needs up to eight restarts to make the OS running again. Failing restarts cause the monitor staying black.
When does it happen?
It’s different. Sometimes during scanning the iTunes library, sometimes instantly at the start of that scanning process, sometimes while doing some unspecific operations in Mixxx or iTunes (but definitely within the first 60 seconds of using Mixxx). Experiencing failing restarts in the aftermath each time are for sure.
Basic information:
– Mac OS X 10.11.6 (15G22010)
– Intel Core i7, 2,6 GHz
– Intel HD Graphics 4000 + NVIDIA GeForce GT 650M
– Apple Audio; controller: Beatmix Reloop 2 MK2 (FW version: 1.2)
CrashReporter log (most recent) [if the crash appears not to happen on behalf of Mixxx please request specific OS logs via e-mail <email address hidden>]: see attachment
User space applications like Mixxx are not able to stop the OS. Please check your system for hardware failures as this is the most likely cause for such issues. Graphics card or RAM are the usual suspects.
