LVM failed to activate on upgade to 19.10 - grub

On updating from 19.04 to 19.10 I got an error that VVM failed to activate. My drive was encrypted and I didn't have this problem when I previously upgraded from 18.10 to 19.04. Upon rebooting I got a kernel panic, a picture of which is attached.

Here is information taken from boot-repair which could be helpful. Boot-repair didn't work for me.

I tried manually reinstalling grub but I got a bunch of warnings and an error. Log file attached.
