Bug Description

Binary package hint: mythdvd

When ripping a DVD from a remote front-end (fresh Gutsy install, mythdvd 0.20.2-0ubuntu2), Medium, Good, and Excellent modes do not work. Specifically, they read the DVD, but do not transcode properly. ISO Image and Perfect modes work properly and leave a file in /var/lib/mythtv/videos (.iso or .vob, respectively).

After installing the libxvidcore4 package, these modes worked properly. Bug 69651 hints that choosing divx rather than xvid in the mythdvd rip settings might be better. In the spirit of "it just works", it seems either 1) the default should be divx or 2) libxvidcore4 should be required by mythdvd.

Is this still an issue for you? Which Ubuntu version do you use? Thank you for telling us!

No, this is old enough it's no longer relevant to me. Let's just expire it.
