Thanks for taking your time to file this bug and help us make Ubuntu better. Can you check whether this issue is with specific source of videos or all videos in general? If specific kind of videos only produce this issue, the issue might be with the video. If so, can you specify the video, an example, so we can confirm. Can you also check whether you have the latest Flash plugin installed? It should be Shockwave Flash 9.0 r115 or later. Are you trying this with the plugin from the ubuntu non-free plugins or from the Adobe site? Thank you again.

I can also confirm this is a bug, because I have the same problem as the previous user. Every youtube video and any streaming video on different websites (i.e. Stage6, myspace video) all skip.

I am using Firefox 2.0.0.11 and have the newest Flash plugin (Shockwave Flash 9.0 r115, as you stated earlier.)

This problem did not occur until after the update to 2.0.0.11.

Here are some sample videos to test with:
http://youtube.com/watch?v=LJX0FzDLhXQ
http://youtube.com/watch?v=pPdFrW076R0

The first one is a fast-paced video, and the 2nd is a slower, softer one. This is so you can see that this bug occurs no matter what type of video it is.

Thank you very much, and I hope that you fix this bug as soon as you can.

I also have this problem where the video skips for 2-5 seconds and then it goes back to normal. I don't think it is only in youtube videos but all streaming videos on the web. I'm on ubuntu 7.10 and I hope this bug gets sorted out on the next ubuntu release. Thanks to everyone involved and keep up the excellent work.

Hi,
this problem still occurs on the latest code (hardy & all the latest versions).
Tried with both non-free (Adobe) and free (+ gnash) plugins and behaves exactly same.
Let me know if you need more info or want me to try more things.
