Bug Description

New to Linux/UBUNTU but expert in Windows/programming.
Evidently my Device/Display options are very limited, when I connect a projector the second display can use only a low resolution, much below the projectors capability. I tried to check for the video driver and I got error messages:

The following packages have unmet dependencies:
 xserver-xorg-video-intel : Depends: xorg-video-abi-23
                            Depends: xserver-xorg-core (>= 2:1.18.99.901)
E: Unable to correct problems, you have held broken packages.

Thank you for taking the time to report this issue and helping to make Ubuntu better.

Examining the information you have given us, this does not appear to be a bug report so we are closing it and converting it to a question in the support tracker. We understand the difficulties you are facing, but it is better to raise problems you are having in the support tracker at https://answers.launchpad.net/ubuntu if you are uncertain if they are bugs.

The message "E: Unable to correct problems, you have held broken packages." tells you prior commands have had errors that have not corrected, is support is appropriate. If it's a bug, it's related to the user/operator (who hoped it'd go away).

You can also find help with your problem in the support forum of your local Ubuntu community http://loco.ubuntu.com/ or asking at https://askubuntu.com or https://ubuntuforums.org, or for more support options please look at https://discourse.ubuntu.com/t/community-support/709
