with openbox, flickers and does not work

Bug Description

Binary package hint: pypanel

running with openbox 3.4.4, pypanel displays the panel, but the icons and text descriptions for the windows, along with the date and the desktop name, flicker on and off. Clicking on them has no noticeable effect.

Is this symptom still reproducible in 8.10 or 9.04?

I can't reproduce this in 9.04, pypanel 2.4-1.1build1, openbox 3.4.7.2-3.
