Bug Description

(Please forgive the title - I'm not sure I can identify a specific bug, rather, some things feel non-obvious, but I can't pick out a specific issue)

According to https://launchpad.net/~ubuntuone-pqm-team/+members#active, one "Active member" is "Ubuntu One Auto Pilot"

This links to https://launchpad.net/~otto-pilot, which gives me a 410 Gone

Things that slightly surprise me:

* A user's page can 410
    * I'd assume that meant "we banned and deleted them and they won't be coming back" but I wouldn't expect that for this user, given it looks like an Ubuntu/Canonical bot
* This user appears in "active members"
    * I'm not entirely clear what state they're in, but it doesn't feel like it's "active"

Am I missing something? Thanks

It's suspended because it was privileged but owned by a former employee; IIRC we ended up standing up ~otto-copilot instead.

In general suspended accounts do need to be at least a little bit visible: for example, bug comments posted by now-suspended accounts would look very odd otherwise. I'm not sure whether we ought to filter them out of this kind of list.

Ah, thank you - I'd totally failed to notice the Pilot/Co-Pilot distinction until you pointed it out!

With that context in mind, I guess my expectations would be:

* Suspended users aren't really "active members" and probably shouldn't appear in that section
    * I notice now that the icon is slightly different, but that's quite subtle and I've managed to miss it until now
* Visiting a suspended user's page should probably indicate that they've been suspended

How does that sound?

I'd be OK with filtering them out of "active members", but I think I'd prefer to keep the 410 Gone for suspended users (the overwhelming majority of which are spammers, and we don't want them in search engine indexes etc.).

Agree with keeping the 410 Gone status, exactly as you say - I'd just like to see some actual context/explanation on the rendered page, e.g. "User Suspended" rather than the generic "Page gone"
