cannot set freq 16000 to ep 0x86

similar to https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/459445 and https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/884210 , when booting with a Logitech QuickCam plugged in:

the system starts to hang, it has no sound output, and /var/log/syslog is filled with lines like

unplugging quickcam and replugging it is a workaround, but it would be nicer if the system didn't go into a state where it hangs / has no sound to begin with.
