wicd needs to be ported to Python 3, otherwise it will become useless in a few months (Python 2.7 is EoL 2020-01-01)

wicd still only works with Python 2.x. But Python 2.x (namely 2.7) is End of Life at the beginning of 2020, i.e. in four months.

Linux distributions all over the place are currently working on the Python 2.7 removal.

If wicd isn't ported to Python 3 soon, it will become unusable very soon and hence will be removed from more or less all Linux distributions of which it's currently part of.

What is the status of this bug? I'm planning to start using Ubuntu 20 in some production systems and this has become a blocker on my migrations.

still open, I've been asking for help as I'm not a gtk expert... the
dependency to pygtk is blocking me
