Bug Description

see the attached file.

tried to install Ubuntu Server 18.04.2 64-bit in a shared VMware virtual machine. the error occurs after the installation progress begins while i'm configuring the initial user or later.

Do you know if the virtual machine has a network adapter and if so, is the system allowed to connect to the internet?

yes, it has, and yes, it is.

the installation went fine after the virtual machine had been unshared.
