Bug Description

Ubuntu 19.04

Nmap recently released their next major update - 7.80

The package manager claims

> nmap is already the newest version (7.70+dfsg1-6).

Thanks for your report. The package has been updated to version 7.80+dfsg1-1 in Debian and will be synced in Ubuntu as usual.

https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/nmap/7.80+dfsg1-1 is stuck in proposed due to a new dependency that is only available in universe:

nmap/amd64 unsatisfiable Depends: lua-lpeg

I briefly looked at this. lua-lpeg is not a new dependency, it has been a build-dep since nmap 7.0. Why now it's a runtime dependency I'm not sure. It could be because before it was statically linked, and now isn't.

There was an old MIR ticket for lua-lpeg, approved back then: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/lua-lpeg/+bug/1546957

I reopened it (fix committed, since the mir was approved) and asked for lua-lpeg to be pulled back into main.
