Bug Description

Binary package hint: mysql-server-5.0

in hardy, mysql-server-5.0 5.0.45-3ubuntu1, mysqld_safe consumes 100% of cpu on my machine (dell latitude d820, coreduo processor). restarting server has no effect. this is true even with unmodified /etc/mysql/my.conf, with no requests coming in from any clients. server runs only a very small number of simple databases. pls advise on debugging procedure. thx, matt

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. Could you have a look at bug 105457 to see if it's the same problem ?
