Please not that there's currently no snap for thunderbird in any other channel, only edge. So I suppose the fact that gnome-software shows the version in edge is normal.

    $ snap info thunderbird
    name: thunderbird
    […]
    snap-id: k1Ml1O9GzSO2QftV0ZlWSbUfQ78nN460
    channels:
      stable: –
      candidate: –
      beta: –
      edge: 60.6.1 2019-07-05 (34) 99MB -

What's not so normal though, is that the snap is not up-to-date with the latest upstream release (60.7.2).

Why do you think gnome-software is at fault there? What would you expect it to do diferently?

That's not true, we *should* be showing them. It was a conscious decision to make snapd and G-S show them.

As I wrote on the snapcraft forums, that's a problem then as long as the snap continues to be out of date/unstable, as the snap replaces the deb version for users that don't have Thunderbird installed.

I don't mind if non-stable snaps appear in the store, but they should not be default if a deb version is also available.
