Bug Description
After upgrading to Hardy from Gutsy the graphics has slowed down significantly. In Gutsy I didn't use the xserver-xgl package. It ran better that way. However, in Hardy the graphics are terrible slow without the xserver-xgl. If I install the xserver-xgl package it speeds up a bit, but still very slow (Direct Rendering becomes disabled when the package is installed).
The game OpenTTD runs very slow. The game has a "fast forward" function, which basically removes limitations and lets the game run as fast as it can. In Gutsy the difference was very notable but in Hardy there is no difference what so ever. That means the game is having trouble even following the normal speed.
Furthermore there's a problem with the borders on my windows if the xerver-xgl package isn't installed. Included screenshot.
Okay, the problem seems to be a bit different than I first expected.
I run BOINC, wich has a thread running at very low priority (19) and the thread uses all excess resources.
If I suspend BOINC the OpenTTD game runs okay fast again. Although only with the xserver-xgl package installed (thus no direct rendering).
BOINC didn't have an effect on OpenTTD in Gutsy.
