Bug Description

The process with this pc and my tv monitor (an old Sonoko) always takes alot with Ubuntu. It takes even a little bit with Windows on the same device, but with this distro (the only one I've ever tried, 19.04) it can even takes minutes and even a counter intuitive setup.
I tried alot of days ago and I hope it can show up in the logs.
Furthermore the screen no 2, when finally start working, has a color shift. A blue-ish shift. From the color the mouse cursor it seems white turns into a turquoise.
I decided to report it now because I thought it was the old tv fault, but today I decide to plug a new laptop on that and, even if Windows colors are a little bit off, it's not at the same level as this issue

This sounds like likely to be a hardware fault. If not a faulty screen then a faulty connection or faulty cable. Please try replacing the cable.

It seems there was no secondary screen connected when you opened this bug. Can you tell us what type of connector you are using?

Hello, I was using an old VGA cable I found at home. I probably wasn't connected while reporting the bug, sorry.
But I also thought it could be an hardware fault, until I found out it can somehow be fixed.
During my last tries I decide to retry with the second pc (which was the one kind of fine using Windows) but this time I booted with an Ubuntu Live Boot usb drive (same distro 19.04 used during the install).
To my surprised:
-the black screen minutes-long wait that I experience in the first pc was non-existent
-the blue-ish filter effect was still there but I randomly fixed.

I tweaked with the background using the preinstalled wallpapers. After changing from the original Disco Dingo to the white DD pic I switched back to the original DD pic...
To my surprise this simply fixed the issue in the Live Boot (LOL).
SOoo I tried that in the first pc, with no results (what a pity)

That did the work, thanks, and even almosr immediatly. It now shows the secondary screen with a decent hue. Thanks for spending some time with a noob like me.

If I recall correctly I opened that setting menu when already plugged to the tv, probably for this reason it showed just the alternative settings (wish it was possible to alsways possible to se primary and alternative at once) . Lucky for me I followed your advice before pluggin the VGA.

Another little thing is about
   Settings > Devices > Screen
Can't it let me choose if mirroring, extending or cloning the pc screen on the TV? I think I have seen that option before
