Bug Description

My machine is MacBook Pro (15-inch, 2018) with Radeon Vega 20, and I have macOS Mojave 10.14.5 installed.

I installed 2019.0.0.a369cbe55179, ran it, and found that if I change size of the window, the preview zone scrolls out of border, so it's impossible to use it.

I attached a screenshot of the smallest window size (when overview is in place), and a couple of screenshots of resized window states.

Hugin 2018 works fine.

Maybe, it can be related to HiDPI rendering (as Hugin 2018 doesn't look that crisp as the latest one).

I can't reproduce this (High Sierra, not a Retina Mac - due for an upgrade). Both views are always centered.

You can try disabling the HiDPI rendering by editing /Applications/Hugin/Hugin.app/Contents/Info.plist and changing this

 <key>NSHighResolutionCapable</key>
 <true/>

to this:

 <key>NSHighResolutionCapable</key>
 <false/>

Hey @Niklaus, thanks for the tip, but it did not work out.

I disabled `NSHighResolutionCapable` as you suggested, but still have problems with window resizing and position of preview area.

See attached screenshot.

Ok. This seems to be a bug in the underlying wxWidgets library which only appears on MacOS 10.14.5 - so not related to HiDPI.
There is a patch available, which is currently tested. see http://trac.wxwidgets.org/ticket/18402

THX! tmodes (tmodes),

Unfortunately, I'm not a programmer...
Waiting for a stable version of this pretty software under MOJAVE :)

wxwidget was patched in August, Hugin from middle of September still has the issue

The latest official Hugin build is from March. I'm not aware of a September build, so I don't know to which build you reference.

(Patching only wxWidgets is not enough. wxWidgets needs to rebuild correctly with the patch and then Hugin needs to be rebuild against the modified wxWidgets lib.)

Sorry I was going by file mod date. It is indeed from March.

As an update from issue opener.

Hugin works fine with the fresh installation of latest macOS Catalina 10.15. The Hugin version I tested is 2019.0.0.a369cbe55179.

I have the same issue on a M1 MacBook Pro running macOS 11.1 and using the latest Hugin 2019.2.0
The preview window is out of place from the get-go, even without resizing the window, and it is therefore unusable

I attached screenshots of the issue. No matter what I do I can't seem to get the preview area to be visible, even when opening the app in low resolution mode (to bypass scaling effects due to the Retina display)
