Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. We are sorry that we do not always have the capacity to look at all reported bugs in a timely manner

According to https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Bugs/FindRightPackage#Suspend_and_Hibernate this issue should have been reported against the Ubuntu kernel so I'm reassigning.

If this is still an issue then please provide any additional information that may be requested.

This bug is missing log files that will aid in diagnosing the problem. While running an Ubuntu kernel (not a mainline or third-party kernel) please enter the following command in a terminal window:

apport-collect 1830560

and then change the status of the bug to 'Confirmed'.

If, due to the nature of the issue you have encountered, you are unable to run this command, please add a comment stating that fact and change the bug status to 'Confirmed'.

This change has been made by an automated script, maintained by the Ubuntu Kernel Team.

I tried suspend and it still fails to recover in a reasonable time; usually it locks up and I have to do a hard start. I had thought that it was healed, but was mistaken. Bug still valid.
