desktop wallpaper darker after resume

Bug Description
after a sleep & resume cycle, the desktop wallpaper has a darker color, as if a black layer was applied to it with some transparency.
if I restart and log in, the wallpaper is the original color
my expectation is that the desktop wallpaper image should have the same, unchanged colors
