Chrome multimedia keys doesn't work after screen lock 18.04

So chrome introduced this multimedia key support and it works pretty well. I use google play music to listen to music and the play/pause multimedia keys are useful. but at an event where the screen is locked and i log back in, the multimedia keys doesn't work. i have to restart chrome to make it work again.

Thank you for your bug reports. What desktop environment/session do you use? When you mention multimedia keys is that keyboard ones? Do you get the same issue in e.g totem or is it specific to chrome?

The problem is with chrome only, other programs like vlc & stock video player. Desktop environment is Gnome. It's a stock ubuntu 18.04 default gnome version.

I meant the hardware play/pause button when i said multimedia keys.

Button on the keyboard? Also you wrote "other programs like vlc & stock video player." did that miss some words, or could you explain what it means?

Sorry, i meant vlc & the preinstalled video player just works fine with the button on the keyboard.

Thanks, it looks an issue with chrome then if others apps are working. Closing since it's closed source and not something Ubuntu can fix
