PDF export of clipped object fails

I'm exporting an Inkscape document (http://quatramaran.ens.fr/~coudert/tmp/UPsud_logo.svg) to PDF. The document contains a group of clipped objects, and the PDF export completely ignores clipping: http://quatramaran.ens.fr/~coudert/tmp/UPsud_logo.pdf

I tried both with the stable version (0.45.1), and with the development version (0.46dev+devel, built Jan 7 2008) that has Cairo export, both fail in the same way. Does Inkscape support exporting of clipped paths at all? I don't think this can be attributed to a lack of support of PDF here, because I actually imported this logo from a larger PDF file (thanks to the cool PDF import in devel!).

This last attachement is the on-screen rendering by Inkscape, which is fine. The lack of clipping in the PDF is easy to see on the top and bottom corners of the diamond-shaped logo.
