Bug Description

I use ubuntu19.04, "show applications" take about 2 ~ 3seconds to get result in my computer.
I think it is too slow, I don't know whether there is a way to make it faster, "show applications" is very frequent action.

I install deppin15.10 in my virtualbox, assin 2GB mem and 1 cpu core.Deepin has almost the same feature , but deepin only take 0.5 seconds to get result.

Thank you for your bug report. What do you call "show application"? How do you trigger it?

This bug report came from elsewhere. It's about the icon spring animation.

But the animation varies depending on how you initiate it. For example, Super+A is faster.

Also, please try uninstalling your extensions:

'full_clock@soulsuke'
'<email address hidden>'
'<email address hidden>'
'<email address hidden>'

and then confirm for us if the bug still occurs?

This problem still occurs.
The deepin launcher is written by c++, the gnome launcher is written by js,
c++ is much faster (at least 5 times) than js I think.

I hope gnome do not use js, use c or c++ to Performance sensitive feature.

The deepin launcher code:

Please also:

1. Remember to reboot the machine after uninstalling all extensions and retest.

2. Tell us how you are launching "Show Applications"? Is it via a mouse click, or keyboard?

3. Are you using the Ubuntu Dock in Gnome Shell or the traditional Gnome Shell dock?

I use mouse click and Ubuntu dock.

Even in VM, the deepin launcher is much faster than gnome launcher, because deepin launcher is written by c++.

Yes we know and expect other desktop environments will be faster than Gnome at some things.

Well, it's still unclear what you call "show applications" and how you trigger it. Can you make a screencast of the issue?

mac has the same feature, and it's very fast,
