Bug Description

This is one of those things that happens apparently randomly from my (the user's) point of view. Occasionally, when I right click on a dock icon to bring up the menu, the menu doesn't really respond to clicking on the commands, and then stays on my screen even after the dock auto-hides itself.

I can try clicking on the various commands in the menu, but nothing happens. The menu remains on screen even when I switch applications or virtual desktops.

I'm using whatever the latest packages are for Gnome and the Dock extension that come with Ubuntu 19.04.

The only way I've found to resolve this has been to log out of my Gnome session and log back in. I've been searching for a way to kill the Dock and restart it, but haven't found anything in my web searches.

See attached screenshot.

I have another data point to add. As I was preparing to logout and log back in, I noticed that the menu became responsive again when I closed Nautilus, i.e. the two windows for "Files" that appear in the menu in the screenshot.

I don't have any crash dump information, obviously, but I can supply additional computer specs if needed.

It has not happened since I reported it. I have been rebooting a little more frequently, which I think helps.

I tried that apport command but thanks to systemd-resolved, it failed to connect to Launchpad after I authorized the token. It couldn't resolve launchpad.net. That's another, more frequent annoyance, that I've been putting up with since upgrading to 19.04.

I'm just going to make this bug Invalid, unless some objects.
