Bug Description
Binary package hint: compiz
I would expect 'initiate erase' to allow you to rub parts of the annotation out.
And, even if that isn't the case there should be some sort of warning that the only way to return is to hit escape when this mode is initiated. Twice I rebooted because i thought my computer had froze.
More info can be provided, but i don't know what would be useful.

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. The release of Ubuntu that you noticed this on would be useful. I've tried recreating this on Hardy Heron using compiz-plugins version 1:0.7.0-0ubuntu1, but the key stroke for initiate erase didn't actually do anything. I'd agree that whatever it is supposed to do should be better documented. Thanks in advance.
