The "synPS/2 Synaptics TouchPad" is visible xinput, but the touchpad no longer works after booting up my "lenovo ideapad yoga 11s" after not using the laptop for 6 months

My lenovo ideapad yoga 11s touchpad is not working
I followed the instuctions on https://wiki.ubuntu.com/DebuggingTouchpadDetection to debug the touchpad to no avail.

this is not a major issue as I have a usb mouse I can use, but any fix or information leading the touchpad working again would be appreciated.
