Web Client: Patron screen should not show Group fines

The Patron Check out screen displays the Group fine amount in bright red. Some libraries believe this to be a privacy issue when they check out items on the patron screen. I will also note that the Group fine amount did not show on the xul Patron checkout screen. We would like that field removed or at the very least have a option to not show it on the screen.

Easy to test find a patron that belongs to a group where the other member owes a fine. Pull up the patron and you will see the amount listed directly under the Fines Owed field. If group fines are zero the field does not show up.

Our libraries love this feature, so preference would be to make it optional rather than removing it.

I agree with Anna. It is not something our libraries would wish to remove.

Marking confirmed because we get complaints of the "Group Fines" field being too prominent, leading staff to telling patrons they have fines before they have a chance to look closer.

There should be some type of setting to control the visibility of this field.
