Postgresql 7.4 init scripts prompt for password

Bug Description

postgresql7.4 init scripts prompt for a password to shut down or restart the
server if done from a command line. If during system shutdown it simply hangs
permanently.

This is fixed in postgresql-common version 17, which should automatically enter
Breezy by tomorrow.

If you want to fix this now, please download

http://ftp.debian.org/debian/pool/main/p/postgresql-common/postgresql-common_17_all.deb

and install it with

  sudo dpkg -i postgresql-common_17_all.deb
