Bug Description

Upgraded to disco, and I noticed that my SSD had read errors while looking at dmesg. When I rebooted, it won't boot any more due to disk errors.

But when I tried booting with a 4.18 kernel, it allows me to boot successfully without any errors. Also, I booted an 18.10 USB disk to check which SSD was failing and when I used GNOME disks to check the filesystem, and there were no errors.

I'll try download disco-current to see if the errors can be shown and be submitted here since I can't boot using 4.19 with my SSD.

Would it be possible for you to test the latest upstream kernel? Refer
to https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KernelMainlineBuilds . Please test the latest
v5.0-rc8 kernel[0].

If this bug is fixed in the mainline kernel, please add the following
tag 'kernel-fixed-upstream'.

If the mainline kernel does not fix this bug, please add the tag:
'kernel-bug-exists-upstream'.

Once testing of the upstream kernel is complete, please mark this bug as
"Confirmed".

Thanks in advance.

Disco will use v5.0.

It's in unstable PPA now:

The bug doesn't exist with that PPA's kernel.
