Bug Description
I am using a Seagate FreeAgent Pro 750GB external HDD via an eSATA connection, using Gutsy Gibbon. The drive is detected fine, and allows unlimited read access. However when I try to write more than about 100MB in one go, the entire system freezes entirely, including mouse movement, screen animations etc, requiring a hard reset. I originally thought it was the NTFS formatting, however I deleted the NTFS partition, and when trying to format it as ext3 it entirely froze again.

This is not a duplicate at all. Ticket #193154 refers to the drive not being able to start up again after it has suspended over USB. My problem is that when writing a moderately large amount of data (over about 100MB) to the drive over an eSATA connection, the ENTIRE system will totally freeze. No mouse movement, no keyboard response, all CPU graphs etc freeze right up, and I have to do a hard reset of the entire box.
