Bug Description

If after hiding all windows using "Hot Corners" "Show Desktop" feature, I open any specific window, the Xpad note doesn't come back, and I didn't find any convenient way to get it back. The Xpad program wont restart since it is already running, however killing the process (or just closing the Terminal I've opened Xpad with) lets me to reopen the program (and the note returns to the Desktop).

According to Arthur Borsboom (arthurborsboom), "this windows manager sends a hide signal to all windows, including each Xpad pad. Xpad might receive the signal from the window manager but does not register this change in state. Or maybe the other way around, when the window manager demands a show all windows. Anyway, I don't think there is much you can do. It sounds like a bug in Xpad."

More details:

Xpad version: 4.5.0-0ubuntu1
Linux version: Mint 18.3 Cinnamon 64-bit

State of Xpad process was checked with ps -A | grep xpad

It is probably worth mentioning that Xpad program is not giving any output (no warnings/errors/any other messages) if run through terminal

Steps to reproduce:

1) Turn on the computer
Xpad note: is not present on a Desktop
 Xpad process: is not running

2) Start Xpad (from Terminal, or from Menu)
Xpad note: is present on a Desktop
 Xpad process: is running

3) "Hot Corners" come to play:

3.1) Enable "Hot Corners" if disabled
Open "System Settings". In "Preferences", open "Hot Corners" settings. Enable any hover, set it to "Show the desktop"

3.2) Use the "Hot Corners" hover to "Show the desktop"
Move the mouse to the corner you've just enabled in "Hot Corners". All opened windows will hide (including the Xpad note), and you will be left with the Desktop with all Icons present.
Xpad note: is not present on a Desktop
  Xpad process: is running

4) Show all windows OR show one window:

4.1) Show all windows using "Hot Corners" feature (happy ending)
Move the mouse back to the corner you've just enabled in "Hot Corners". All hidden windows including the Xpad note will be displayed on the Desktop
Xpad note: is present on a Desktop
  Xpad process: is running

 OR

4.2) Show one window not using "Hot Corners" feature (bad ending)
Open any window. The chosen window will appear on the Desktop, but the Xpad note will not. At this point, there is no convenient way to get the Xpad note back on the Desktop, and the only way I found is to kill the Xpad process and reopen the program again
Xpad note: is not present on a Desktop
  Xpad process: is running

If any additional info is needed - just tell me what you need to know. I beg your pardon if my steps to reproduce are too primitive and detailed - I was trying my best:)
