Bug Description

Binary package hint: xserver-xorg-input-evdev

As reported in bug #173833, I started using XInput hotplug by following the advice there:
"You can test it by copying /usr/share/doc/hal/examples/10-x11-input.fdi to /etc/hal/fdi/policy."

I'm reporting this bug in the hope that this can eventually be enabled by default.

I have a swedish keyboard. On login, it is set to US layout. This was expected. I use "setxkbmap se" to set it right.

However, after using it for a while, it suddenly and unexpectedly switches to greek.

I reset using setxkbmap (Up-arrow in terminal...!), and again it works for a while.

I get a lot of the following in .xsession-errors:

![1199892060,000,xklavier_evt_xkb.c:xkl_xkb_process_x_event/] ATTENTION! Currently cached group 1 is not equal to the current group from the event: 0

I have a logitech slim keyboard and a logitech MX revolution with a few buttons reported as keyboard buttons, both USB.

You need to use the evdev keyboard model. Check that you are, it can be seen from the gnome keyboard settings.
