Bug Description

Binary package hint: linux-image

I have updated kernel to version 2.6.24-3 but ipw2200 module loading fails because it unable to load firmware.

>dmesg output:
[ 1146.466692] ipw2200: Detected Intel PRO/Wireless 2200BG Network Connection
[ 1146.519299] ipw2200: ipw2200-bss.fw request_firmware failed: Reason -2

[ 1146.519675] ipw2200: probe of 0000:02:06.0 failed with error -5

There isn't ipw2200-bss.fw in /lib/firmware/2.6.24-3-generic/

I'm marking it as duplicate of bug 180544.
I cannot confirm it, in the sense that both linux-ubuntu-modules-2.6.24-11-386 and linux-ubuntu-modules-2.6.24-11-generic contain the firmware files here.
Please refer to the main bug when you want to provide more information.
Thank you.
