Bug Description
We have recently run into some bugs in privileged code that resulted in segfaults in the privsep daemon process. This isn't something we can catch and handle, and it causes all subsequent privileged calls to fail because the daemon is gone. It would be better if we could somehow detect that the daemon died and restart it automatically in this scenario.
