Bug Description
When exporting a PDF file (File->Save a copy-> PDF ->) you can put a value in the "Limit export to the object with ID" field. When the object number does not exist in the drawing obviously no PDF can be created. However, the error message that is then produced reads "File blabla.pdf could not be saved".
Given that Inkscape remembers any value that is put in to the object ID field, it can happen that after using this feature once the user is later confused by the error message.
It took me multiple hours to figure out why my PDF export was "suddenly broken".
The error message is not helpful and should say something like "PDF could not be generated, object <ID> does not exist in the drawing".

Thanks for reporting. This is already fixed in the development version (which will be released 1.0 at some point in the future).
