Bug Description

within the "edit book" function:
After marking an X image as cover image, the former X image become the former cover picture rather than the cover image had replaced by the X image.

yes, marking one image as a cover is not supposed to remove the previous image. If you want to replace the cover image with another image, right lick on it and choose replace with file. Or delete it first then mark the other image as the cover.
