This piece of terminal output is interesting:

Removing snap lxd and revision 9664
rm: cannot remove '/var/snap/lxd/common/ns/shmounts': Device or resource busy

 installed snapd package post-removal script subprocess returned error exit status 1

So even though the lxd daemon was stopped at the beginning, it did not clean up properly (or was there a container still running?).

For me uninstalling failed because of the ZFS mount on /var/snap. After I unmounted /var/snap with sudo umount /var/snap (which was empty)
