Bug Description

Hi all,

version: 0.8
urls: happens with 3-4 that I've tried

one of the problems that I've been having with podbird is that downloaded episodes won't play when I'm not online.
The phone is Nexus 4 (mako) with 8G of storage.
I've confirmed that the files are not corrupted, when I played them with the 'music player', but even that player didn't show any controls (play, pause, stop, rewind) or metadata, but that is another ticket :)

Let me know how I can provide more details, like logs and such. I know my way around Linux, but I'm still a newbie with ubports/ubuntu touch.

Anyone else experiencing this?

Thanks,
camypaj

I try to make some improvements on this problem. Can you test the attachment?

Hi Stefan,
thanks for looking into this. I don't have the test device at the moment (it's on a loan), but I believe I should be able to test in a month or so. Further info I've found in other, similar tickets, is that the playback won't work if I go to the "episodes" view. However, if I go to the podcast view, and find & play the episode from there (less intuitive for me, but what can you do), apparently the playback works. Can you confirm that on your device, if you have one to test?
Thanks,
Milan

Hello Milan,

sorry for my late answer.
Yes i can confirm this. If i start a podcast from the podcast view which has a paperclip sign then i can play the selected podcast without online connection.
So i think the problem is only on the episode view.

For me, I find that I sometimes have to download the episode, then close and reopen the app for it to play offline.

Seems that the default is to stream the episode even if it has been downloaded.
