18.04 .1 referenced package gnutls-bin missing

sudo apt install gnutls-bin ssl-cert

ssl-cert (1.0.39 installs)

but there is no package "gnutls-bin".

Then it says:
sudo sh -c "certtool --generate-privkey > /etc/ssl/private/cakey.pem"

But there is no such program "certtool"

I'm not understanding what is wrong for you. The package, gnutls-bin, is there and the program certool is within that package.

Michael, if you installed 18.04.1 using the new server installer, then it explains why you cannot find the package. That package is in universe, and the installer is not enabling the universe repository by default:

$ apt-cache policy gnutls-bin
gnutls-bin:
  Installed: 3.5.18-1ubuntu1
  Candidate: 3.5.18-1ubuntu1
  Version table:
 *** 3.5.18-1ubuntu1 500
        500 http://br.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu bionic/universe amd64 Packages
        100 /var/lib/dpkg/status

that's it! I used the server installer. Now I added universe in /etc/apt/sources.list and everything is fine now. Maybe someone can add this information ("check if universe is activated") to the howto. Thank you for your quick help!
